Born and raised in the UK, Denise began her career in the salon industry at the age of 14. She started out as a shampoo girl and then went on to finish an apprenticeship working for two of the Vidal Sassoon’s art directors. She later worked at the renowned Queen’s Salon and then for John Frieda before coming to America in 1984. Upon arriving in San Diego, she began working at Chequers Hair Salon. During her 14 years at Chequers she was voted “Best Hairdresser” by San Diego Magazine. She worked for Nordstroms dressing hair for the fashion shows and the Miss Teen America Pageant in 2001. Denise expanded her business in San Diego by opening denise barrow salon and spa in Banker’s Hill. Since her opening, Denise and her staff have been offering exceptional service and incredible style.
